The efficacy of five repellents were tested against Phlebotomus alexandri(a sandfly vector ofKala-azar)both in the laboratory and in the field in Meiyaogou,Turfan county,Xinjiang UygurAutonomous Region during 1986-1987.A total of 3301 females of Ph.alexandri were used in the la-boratory and 306 mantimes of volunteers were tested in the field。
