This paper takes a clip of a crime drama Sherlock as research data and applies three levels of positioning analysis to the narrative in this clip between a detective and a suspected murderer. The author analyzes the lexis, the linkage to topical cohesiveness, and the plots and themes to answer the question why this story here and now. It is can be concluded that the suspected murderer is a great storyteller by trying to lower his agency and blames the killing on his father and strengthen the relevance of the past event, diverting the detective from the fact.
