BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE Proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)are among the most commonly used classes of medications,with many prescriptions thought to be inappropriate.Previous observational studies have suggested that PPIs may be associated with cognitive decline.This study used a large longitudinal database to better understand the influence of PPIs on the risk of incident dementia.
