Translation Strategies Adopted by English Majors in English-Chinese Translation:A Study Based upon Think-aloud Protocols

摘要：

The English learners with different translation capacity may adopt different translation strategies. Thinking-aloud method is used to collect data from four participants through their self-reporting of their problem-solving processes while translating a 200-word text from English to Chinese. However, some researches have been made about TAP, a systematic experiment design has not been given full to its scale, what’s more, the study on variables and limitation of TAP that may influence the results of experiment is not yet adequate. Therefore, to ensure the trustworthiness of think-aloud protocols in the study of translation process, we design a control group without using the TAPs.
