TSINAN OPHTHALMOLOGICAL SOCIETY

The Tsinan Ophthalmological Society receutly held its first meeting at Cheeloo University School of Medicine on January 30th. Dr. Peter C. Kiang, the acting dean of Cheeloo School of Medicine, delivered the opening address, He extended his cordial welcome to the new Society and stressed upon the need of such an organization. President S. N. Yee of the Shantung Provincial Medical School was the next speaker. He gave a general review of the history of the so-called Western ophthalmology. He also discussed certain phases of the ancient Chinese ophthalmology. He predicted that this Society would do much to revive the enthusiasm in the study of the eye in China.
