摘要
Autoimmunity and autoantibodies play an important role in a growing number of neurological diseases. With immunoadsorption antibodies and immune complexes can be removed directly and efficiently from the patient's blood. It represents a valuable treatment option, particularly for acute treatment-resistant disease situations, such as steroid-refractory relapses of multiple sclerosis or a myasthenic crisis. The treatment is mainly performed in cooperation with the nephrology department. Recommendations for the use of immunoadsorption in important neurological indications are summarized based on the best available evidence and references from various guidelines.
