摘要：
Although gas tamponades are the preferred option for treating rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRD), the use of light silicone oil tamponade (LSO) is indicated in some cases. The introduction and use of tamponades heavier than water, such as heavy silicone oil (HSO), has been recommended for cases of inferior detachment with retinal tears, especially when severe proliferative vitreoretinopathies (PVR) are present.
