摘要
Governance can play a significant role in shaping tourism development, as indicated by numerous studies. Political globalisation directly affects tourism through international agreements and policies. Politically stable countries are perceived by tourists as safer and more attractive, which increases tourist flows. Strong economies often support better infrastructure, improved services, and enhanced attractions, making destinations attractive to tourists. Environmental taxes can raise tourism costs and attract environmentally conscious tourists. In this study, the effects of political globalisation, political stability, economic growth and environmental taxes on tourism in the 10 destinations that attract the most tourists for the period 2000-2020 are investigated. According to the findings of the study, political globalisation negatively affects tourism in Croatia and the USA, while political stability positively affects tourism in T & uuml;rkiye, the USA and Spain. While the increase in economic growth has a positive impact on tourism in Germany and Hungary, it has a negative impact on China. While the increase in environmental taxes positively affects tourism in T & uuml;rkiye, it negatively affects tourism in Austria and Hungary. In this context, this research can help policymakers and industry stakeholders develop strategies that increase the positive effects of tourism while reducing its potential negative effects.
