摘要
The musical iconography brings together details that allow us to interpret data of various kinds linked to the artistic work. The series of the chariots on the Proclamation of the Mask, painted by Domingo Martinez between 1748 and 1949, was a reflection -in the eyes of the Sevillian painter- of a festival from different points of view, but one in which music acquires great importance, given the large number of instruments and musicians. This paper analyses and interprets the musical iconography of this series by means of concepts that complement the form of the instrument depicted, while at the same time attempting to establish connections between organology and performance technique from the conventionalisms and standardisations common in the mid-18th century.
