A Target Velocity Estimation Approach Based on UWB Radar

摘要
The traditional Doppler shift velocity estimation in ultra-wideband (UWB) radar suffers from low accuracy, this paper proposes a velocity estimation method based on high precision range estimation. Firstly, the clutter of the echo signal is removed by singular value decomposition (SVD), then the range estimation of the target is obtained by detecting the peak value. Finally, the velocity estimation of the moving target is obtained according to the high precision range information and the pulse repetition period of the radar. Experimental results show that the proposed method is effective for velocity estimation of moving targets.
