A Novel Method for High-speed Weak Target Detection and Tracking

摘要
The conventional dynamic programming based track-before-detect (DP-TBD) is widely used to weak target detection and tracking. However, when the target moves at high speed, DP-TBD faces the problems of excessive computational burden and difficulty in threshold determination. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a greedy TBD algorithm based on sliding window (S-G-TBD). In this method, radar echo signals are first formed into a first-in-first-out queue and coherently integrated in the form of a sliding window. Based on this, G-TBD is then utilized for tracking to obtain detection and tracking results of high-speed moving target. Simulation experiments validate that the proposed method can effectively detect and track high-speed weak target with less computational effort.
