摘要
Subungual glomus tumors are rare, benign neoplasms arising from glomus bodies, typically located beneath the nail bed. Despite their small size, these tumors can cause significant pain and exhibit sensitivity to temperature changes. Traditional surgical approaches often risk nail bed injury and subsequent deformity. This article describes a novel surgical technique for the excision of subungual glomus tumors utilizing a nail plate flap. This technique aims to minimize nail bed damage and improve cosmetic outcomes. The procedure involves the elevation of an eponychial flap and a nail plate flap, providing access to the tumor for complete excision while preserving the nail bed. Surgical outcomes are evaluated using the fingertip injuries outcome score. This technique offers improved tumor visualization, reduced risk of nail bed injury and tumor recurrence, and enhanced cosmetic results. This novel surgical approach provides an effective method for the excision of subungual glomus tumors, prioritizing symptom relief, minimizing recurrence risk, and preserving nail aesthetics.
