摘要：
In this paper, a systematic study on some of the main design parameters of contra-directional couplers (CDCs) was performed. CDCs with different gaps and corrugation sizes were designed, simulated, fabricated and experimentally characterized in order to understand the influence of each parameter on their spectral response and performance. The fabricated SOI devices help us understand the impact of fabrication in the performance of the devices and also the influence of each parameter in the most important figures of merit when applied to telecommunications.
