摘要
Tremendous CO2 emission from the combustion of fossil fuels continues to plague human beings with climate change. The only way to protect the earth's environment is to reduce the CO2 concentration of the atmosphere. On this purpose, this paper proposes a combined system incorporating absorption air-conditioning system with capture and resources utilization of CO2. In this new system, the regeneration process in the air-conditioning cycle provides high concentration cation solution which propels the capture and conversion of CO2. The combination produces cooling capacity and formate at the same time, which uplifts the overall energy efficiency. It generates double effects on reducing CO2 when driven by renewable energy. Theoretical analysis has been carried out to investigate the influence of different parameters on the performance of the proposed system. Experimental research has been made to study the propelling effect of cation concentration on the capture and conversion of CO2. The results have exposed the performance is better with lower Faradic efficiency and applied voltage, higher energy recovery ratio and higher charging efficiency. The conversion efficiency of CO2 is doubled when incorporating with the air-conditioning process. The overall performance of the combined system is two times of that of the independent systems, proving its potential for future application.
