Pyroshock is generated by a pyrotechnic device during the separation process of stages and firing of launch vehicles. Due to the malfunction of electronic equipment on satellites caused by pyroshock, survivability verification tests for pyroshock must be conducted. Designing a resonator for a mechanical pyroshock simulation test device with a circular cutout and variable thickness through repeated experiments to meet the requirements of the shock response spectrum can incur increased costs and time. In this study, an optimal design of the resonator was conducted using optimization techniques to meet the requirements of the shock response spectrum. To use optimization techniques, the pyroshock simulation test device was simplified into an axisymmetric structure for analytical calculation of the impact force and shock response spectrum. And through finite element analysis and pyroshock simulation test, the simulated shock response spectrum was confirmed to meet the requirements within the +/- 6dB range. Additionally, for selection of test conditions, the relationship between test conditions and the simulated shock response spectrum was confirmed.
