摘要
Recently, energy efficiency becomes more important for user equipment without continuous energy sources. To further reduce the power consumption of UE in the RRC IDLE/INACTIVE and CONNECTED state, the low-power wake up signal and receiver mechanism are studied in this paper. The article investigates the low-power wake-up signal which allows UE stay sleep during OnDuration in case there is no signals detected. Furthermore, the paper introduces low-power wake up receiver, which consumes much lower power than the legacy receiver, to reduce the power consumption. Finally, the paper demonstrates that the low-power wake-up signal and receiver can significantly reduce power consumption.
