Starting from the work of F. D'Agostino, this article proposes a reflection on biopolitical categories. There is a difference between structural biopolitics and discursive biopolitics. In addition to delving into the various biopolitical proposals, among others those of M. Foucault and G. Agamben, the personalist biopolitics of D'Agostino is addressed, highlighting its ontological and anthropological background. This article fills a gap among scholars of the Italian philosopher's work, since not enough attention has been paid to this part of his contributions.
