摘要
Hyponymy is that the concept with special characteristics is connected to a higher category as a type. Here, the concept is called umbrella term, blanket term, superset, or superordinate (hyperonym). Although hyponymy is under the inclusiveness of hyperonymy, its features make it different from hyperonymy. It distinguishes itself from other members in its class with these features. This class has a hierarchical order. The items in the subset show their belonging to the superset. For example; The words rose, tulip, lily, daffodil, hyacinth, and water lily are sub-synonyms of the word 'flower'. These flower types differ from each other in terms of their characteristics and from the term flower, which has the superordinate. This difference is an indication that the inclusion relation is one-sided. For example, we know that 'rose' is a 'flower', but when we say 'flower', we do not know that it is 'rose'. This situation also provides the opportunity to reach from the private to the general.
