摘要
We propose a redesign of the Google Chrome Explore app aimed to enhance user engagement through improved user experience. Within a Chromebook, the Explore app acts as a "compass" and helps users navigate through the device's unique features. The app is designed to help both new and experienced users "get the most out of [their] Chromebook" by providing tutorials, special offers, updates, and answers to FAQs about their device [1]. In this way, the Explore app acts as a continual onboarding experience for Chromebook users to help them fully utilize their Chromebook's features. In this project, we analyzed, redesigned, and tested the existing Google Chrome Explore app using principles of UX design to improve user experience and engagement within the app and promote higher user retention for Chromebooks more broadly. Our redesign focuses on four key areas: organization, consistency, navigation, and personalization. The user testing of our redesign proves significant improvements in those four key areas in addition to overall usability and user satisfaction to potential users.
