Synthesis and properties of a novel fluorescent organogel: AIE, GO hybrid functional gel, and multi-stimuli responsiveness

摘要
We have synthesized a novel highly fluorescent organogel with aggregation-induced emission properties with a 244-fold increase in fluorescence intensity in 90% water fraction (THF/water mixture) compared to pure THF. This molecule is capable of forming strong fluorescent gels in both nonpolar and polar solvents. Fluorescence experiments revealed the emission effect of fluorescence enhancement induced by gelation during gel formation. The self-assembled organogel exhibits completely thermo-reversible and proton-induced gel-to-sol phase transitions, accompanied by modulations in fluorescence intensity. Graphene oxide (GO) is effectively incorporated into the system to create a hybrid-gel-based functional soft material, and the interaction between gelators and GO sheets is studied. Moreover, the color and luminescence of the organogel can be repeatedly altered by a range of external stimuli such as mechanical pressure, temperature changes, and exposure to certain vapors.
