A Single-layer Reflector Design Based on Artificial Electromagnetic Metasurface

摘要
In this paper, a simple reflector antenna based on single-layer metasurface is designed. Firstly, a simple symmetric circular metasurface unit is designed. It can be found by CST simulation software that the unit has 360 degrees phase compensation capability, and the reflectivity can achieve more than 99% in the working frequency band. A simple microstrip antenna is used as the feed source. By analyzing the influence of focal-to-diameter ratio on the reflector antenna's radiation performance, a suitable focal-to-diameter ratio is selected and the phase compensation distribution of the reflector is designed according to the focal-to-diameter ratio. The gain of 22.8dBi and the maximum aperture efficiency is 21.72% are finally achieved. This method provides a new idea for the design of high-gain single-layer reflector antenna.
