Surface shape of magnetic liquid drop near the edge of magnetic wedge

Plane problem on form of magnetic liquid free surface in the field of gravitation forces, external homogeneous magnetic field and inhomogeneous field of magnetized metallic wedge is considered. Results of numerical calculations of free surface form of magnetic liquid droplet retained by magnetic field of magnetizing wedge on the inclined plane are presented. Form changes of free surface of infinite volume of magnetic liquid, located near the wedge edge, by increasing external field are studied. It is shown that by certain critical value of the field part of the magnetic liquid breaks away and sticks to the wedge edge.
