Reaction Between the Dioxides of Hafnium and Zirconium.

A study was made of the phase equilibria in the HfO//2-Zr//2 system in the 1100-2800 degree C temperature range, and the phase diagram of this system was plotted. The HfO//2-ZnO//2 system is characterized by the formation of solid solutions based on monoclinic, tetragonal and cubic modification of the initial components and by an increase in the phase-transition temperatures with an increase in the HfO//2 content.
