摘要
The Naval Construction Force, the Seabees, consists of eight active and 17 reserve Mobile Construction Battalions, two active Amphibious Construction Battalions, and a number of active and reserve support units. This 24,000-man force provides for contingency construction support throughout the world; this usually involves Marine amphibious landings, advanced base construction, and war damage repair. NAVFAC is responsible for providing the Seabees with policy guidance and to plan for the material and equipment support required to mobilize, deploy, and sustain individual units or the entire force to meet contingencies.
