摘要：
The first crankshaft milling cutters were designed with interchangeable blades for regrinding. However, the advantages of indexable inserts were recognised early and the cutters were redesigned for this type of tooling. While initially machine manufacturers only offered circular milling machines for external cutters the development of an internal crankshaft milling machine provided a considerable step forward, which should also lead to more economical milling cutters.
