The author contradicts the article, 'Prospects for utilization of heat pumps to conserve energy resources,' by I. Yu. Dolgov. The point of this remark is to warn readers that annual energy savings reported simply cannot be and that in the article by I. Yu. Dolgov they are exaggerated by roughly two orders of magnitude. This is apparently a result of the fact that the author took into account only the first law of thermodynamics (conservation of energy) and ignored the second law (increase in entropy), which still remains in force.
