An investigation on the development of ferroelectric properties in barium titanate (BaTiO3) polycrystalline films was performed. Physical vapor deposition (PVD) technique was used to deposit the films onto different, Pt-coated substrates. Grain sizes from 50 to 200 nm with structural and dielectric properties that showed a marked transition from nonferroelectric to ferroelectric behavoir across this range were produced.
