Recently it became necessary to solve a number of problems of improvement in the work of the equipment and heating of the coke ovens in the system. Thus an SOL plan was developed in 1983 and adopted in 1984, the measures of which provided for: a decrease in the use of manual labor on industrial operations by mechanization of certain types of work, increasing the time between maintenance work on the coke machines and equipment, improving the working conditions of the operational and maintenance personnel, and improving wages. Strict observance of the technological operations was greatly assisted by the communication between the workers on the coke and pusher sides, which in certain cases led to accidents. In order to improve the reliability and safety of pushing of the coke from the ovens under conditions of noise, in addition to the above measures radio communication was established between the operators of the machines servicing the coke batteries. In order to involve workers in plant management and improve their responsibility and concern for the final product of their labor, the division adopted the team form of labor organization. Practically all the personnel of the division are now in teams.
