摘要：
The author reviews the history of the Hannay diamonds, believed for many years to be the first laboratory made specimens. He then describes his own measurements which confirm that all the crystals are, in fact, fragments of natural diamond. The evidence suggests, however, that the diamonds may well have been recovered from Hannay's apparatus.
