Deinked pulp substitutes have been in high demand the past couple of months, to the extent that there are reports that packers are trying to steal tonnage from each other. Mills are starting to buy pulp substitutes. Since paper stock prices peaked in 1995, a lot of companies decided that it is not worth the time and effort to collect and sort pulp substitutes. So, the supply has dried up while the economy just keeps humming along.
