摘要
A prototype LAN developed at IBM Zurich uses a 'token' signal to control the flow of information. This approach involves an overall ring topology, with baseband rather than broadband transmission. The ring is formed through a series of point-to-point links between the station. Each station has an adaptor that detects the signals generated by the preceding station, captures them, and regenerates the data before transmitting them to the next station.
