OPERATIONAL CONTROL OF RECOVERY OF BENZENE HYDROCARBONS.

Based on data concerning the operation of the benzene department we determined the factors that can be varied to control the absorption process. We constructed a mathematical description of the absorption process of benzene hydrocarbons, with which we calculated the optimal operating conditions of the benzene-scrubber sections. As an optimality criterion we used the minimal sum of arbitrary variable costs required to produde 1 ton of crude benzene. Recovery of benzene hydrocarbons can be controlled according to the program developed by means of a computer at the plant.
