Peculiarities of the stressed state and vibrations of shrouded blades are studied theoretically and experimentally. It is necessary to take into account restriction of the torsion when determining maximal stresses in blades irrespective of their elongation and natural frequencies for the blades of small elongation. Formulas are presented showing that normal stresses of constrained torsion in a periphery section may exceed some times tangential stresses of pure torsion. Theoretical results are supported by experimental data obtained during tests of a shrouded blade of a power steam turbine.
