Simple analytical method to calculate output power of a CO2-gasdynamic laser with a stable resonator, taking into account absorbing zones and nonresonance losses of the active medium

It is shown that the saturation of the gain factor for a fast-moving CO2-active medium can be characterized by the saturation parameter. By integrating equations of radiation transport, an approximated analytical expression is obtained for the output power of a CO2-gasdynamic laser with a stable resonator. It is established that nonresonance losses in the active medium and absorption of radiation in stagnant zones of the resonator cause the significant reduction of the output power of the laser.
