It is reported that Eurocontrol, the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation, has recently inaugurated at Bretigny, France, a powerful ATC simulation system to be used for the development and evaluation of future automated systems. The multi-computer, multi-display system incorporates considerable data-processing innovation, aimed at enabling the simulation of the air-traffic environment of any geographical location, and the test and evaluation of any chosen ATC procedure. Extensive recording and analysis features are built in to permit subsequent off-line analysis of the results of these simulations.
