The presence of sulfate-reducing bacteria in various pipelines of the Dolina Oilfield is demonstrated. The concentration of these microorganisms in the field varies from 10**3 to 2. 5 multiplied by (times) 10**5 cells per ml. A pure culture of the sulfate bacteria is isolated. The most probable source of contamination of the oil-bearing beds is sanitary wastewater, used for injection into these strata.
