Expanding at home and abroad

Forest industry production in Finland was increased by 5% in 2000 to record levels in every category. The improvements were the results of higher prices, increased sales, good exchange rates and improved efficiency. Turnover in 2000 stood at 9583 million up by 16%. Exports from Finland and overseas operations accounted for 89% of turnover. Good energy management and procurement system installed in Finland forestry industry, enabled efficient operation with considerable savings.
