Norske Skog has wrapped up the acquisition of New Zealand based Fletcher Challenge Paper (FCP) for $2 billion which gives the company second spot among the world's newsprint producers and some 13% of the global market. Following the acquisition, Norske Skog has a total paper capacity of 5.8 million tons/yr at 21 partly owned mills in 13 countries. The company also produces one million tons/yr of market pulp.
