Technical and Economic Aspects of Selecting Compressors and Prime Movers for Natural Gas Production, Transport and Storage.

Operating experience of several gas companies is used as a basis for the technical and economic evaluation of compressor/prime mover alternatives for natural gas production, transportation and storage. Despite some differences in the individual experience of these companies and in special local conditions, some generally valid guidelines were established that can be used in planning work and in economic feasibility studies. The possibilities of waste heat recovery are also discussed, and some environmental requirements are considered.
