A theoretical and experimental account is presented of the continuous bed carbonization process in coke ovens, with reference to the mechanism of thermochemical transformations, experimental data on adhesion between the charge and refractory materials and test data on an experimental vertical-oven rig. The proposed method is theoretically sound and practically feasible.
