Project SHARE is a special program sponsored jointly by the International Institute of Communications (IIC) and INTELSAT. It is intended to foster telecommunications development in rural and remote areas of the world through a number of special projects which are made possible (in part) through the free provision of spare space segment capacity by INTELSAT. At the IIC 17th Annual Conference held in September 1986, an interim report was delivered which is reproduced in this journal.
