A direct and simple method is presented for the determination of sewer geometry of circular and noncircular shapes for partly full-flowing conditions with the known variables being discharge, bed slopes, and Mannings roughness coefficient. Methodology has been developed for satisfying the minimum and maximum velocity constraints in a design procedure. A criteria of time of existence of self-cleaning velocity has been suggested for checking against self-cleaning velocity. It is hoped that this criteria will rationalize the design procedure.
