摘要
The effect of an axisymmetric longitudinal magnetic field on an expanding laser plasma has been investigated in an effort to produce an ion beam convenient for applications. Magnetic fields up to 10 kG have a definite effect on the expansion of the plasma formed at the surface of a plane aluminium target irradiated with a laser beam with a power density of 10**9 to 10**1**0 W/cm**2. The angular distributions, the average velocity, and the maximum velocity of the ions in the expanding plasma after their interaction with the magnetic field are analyzed for various values of the magnetic field and for various laser power densities.
