Investigation of two Co-W-Ti-Ta-Nb-C cemented carbide alloys after sintering and slow cooling to room temperature has shown that less than 0. 2% of Ti, Ta and Nb are found in solid solution in the binder phase. The W content dissolved in the binder phase, on the other hand, varies with the C content in a way similar to that observed in WC-Co cemented carbides.
