摘要
The paper reports an investigation on two Al-Zn alloys using differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) as well as transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The results have been analyzed on the basis of Zener's model for cellular decomposition. The total enthalpy of the reaction as well as the interfacial energy of the alpha and beta lamellae have been evaluated. TEM studies have also been carried out to obtain an understanding of the sequence of reactions involving the initiation and growth of stable phases. The alloys used in this study are Al 38 a/o Zn and Al-55 a/o Zn.
