When a digital filter (DF) is constructed it usually consists of some operational devices (registers, adders and multipliers) connected according to the type of algorithms. The most complicated of all operational devices are multipliers, whose complexity adversely influences the speed and adds to the cost of the filter. The multiplier complexity essentially depends on the values of the coefficients and the manner in which they change during operation. In this paper a method of constructing digital filters is proposed, which gives high technical and economic results when the number of units in the binary code of the coefficients is small.
