Phazotron-NIIR has launched the IRS2-E combined target and missile tracking radar that it has developed for the Pantsir-S1E combined gun/missile self-propelled air-defense system. Designed to detect and track fixed-wing aircraft, hovering helicopters, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles, the IRS2-E radar has a maximum lock-on range of 30 km against an air target with an air target with a target cross-section of 2 m2. In combat, it will track one target and provide guidance for one or two-stage 9M335 or 57E6 missiles. The vehicle is able to engage two targets simultaneously, so the second target is probably tracked by the electro-optical low-light/passive infrared sensor package mounted on the turret close to the radar.
