Effects of electric-spark treatment conditions on the erosion process

摘要
Effect of the gas atmosphere between the electrodes, pulse energy, and type of alloying electrode on the surface erosion holes formation under the action of single electric pulse were studied. R6M5 and 9KhS steels were used as cathode materials, rods made from hard alloys (VK6M and T15K6) were used as anodes. It is established that the increase in oxidizing activity of gas atmosphere, pulse energy, as well as use of TiC-based electrodes result in increasing size of the erosion microholes.
