摘要
Air pollution by particulate matter in India has been well documented in the contexts of urban, industrial and indoor pollution. Urbanization and growing energy consumption have made air pollution in cities a growing problem in many developing countries. In attempting to set priorities for action, researchers have apportioned the emissions of particulate matter across various sources and at different spatial scales. The limitations of such inventory-based exercises are that they completely ignore the role of meteorology, which determines the actual exposure. The total exposure assessment to value the benefits and costs of controlling pollution is discussed.
