SIGGRAPH public policy committee activity detailed

The results of third on-line survey on public policy issues affecting computer graphics are presented. only 60 people responded to the survey available for several months and the data indicated that 80 percents of the respondent got the information about the survey through SIGGRAPG website and 85 percent of the respondents belonged to United States. The digital copy protection, telecommunications and television/computer convergence did not rank higher in priorities and respondents indicated no enthusiasm for changing the regulatory status of either cable or DLS services. Many respondents felt press and the broadcast media are not effective as a forum for discussing the issues due to their acceptance of advertising from the affected organizations.
